SACRED SEASON OF WINTER… AND SELF LOVE
I will in my upcoming newsletter being sent the 20 th of March 2025 (end of winter) write about the Sacred Season of Winter, Following your TAO, self care and self love and being like the mouse Fredrik. In the meantime I just wanted to share an act of self love today that made me really happy - taking time to meditate.
I know it might be a cliche being a woman in the mid forties, but I learn every day the necessity of actively choosing self care and self love so I actually have the possibility of giving back. I have had such a hard time choosing self care because I have mistaken self care for being selfish (as I suspect I’m not the only one in doing so). Please don’t get me wrong - the self care I´m talking about is taking the time to drink my coffee while it is still hot, taking the time to meditate, setting healthy boundaries for what serves me right (and not). As you can see by my just mentioned self care goals I might even need to “dig deeper” and go for “radical self love” in the future, ha ha.
I try to start the week end mornings by meditating. I am in love with the Floral Tarot cards written by Diana McMahon Collis and illustrated by Nina Pace and this Sunday morning I pulled the card “The Hermit”, from the major Arcana.
“... Like the narcissus withdraws into its bulb to build energy for its spring rebirth, so too the Hermit recognizes the value of stillness and solitude. The Hermit calls for introspection. It asks you to retreat from the outside world - and the opinions , pressures, and contradictions it floods you with - and instead look inward for the answers you seek...”
So beautifully illustrated by Nina Pace.
What I take from the card is for me to know - but self care and self love do come to mind, that is for sure - and most importantly; the feeling of being content from within by taking the time for my self - just being present.
To wrap up this post about self love I will say that self love for me is in the small things - like meditating - but yesterday I went for the “radical self love-kind” and bought a stunning piece of art made by artist and close friend Paulina Ree. The art work just spoke directly to me and I felt it in my heart and soul the moment I saw it - the art was (at least for me) about self love.
Just picked up this beauty from Paulina Ree - the love is in the details (the matching colors was a fun coincidence).
My H A P P Y place at home is now even more pretty with the art by Paulina Ree - watercolor on Japanese paper
